I know when playing fullscreen tabbing between apps is a pain.
This is why I play in windowed mode, setting the size of the window to my fullscreen - the taskbar (I like having my taskbar visible to click on the browser i got open as well as tabbing)

In windowed mode I have never any issues, not even a millisecond delay in graphic refresh or lag when tabbing back to the game.

I used to have some issues when tabbing in windowed mode with refresh speeds but once I upgraded my RAM to 2gigs it disappeared.

When using multi-apps (games and browsers), having 2gigs is recommended for multi-threading applications.

Personally I prefer the Browser as I don't like opening stuff in-game as I can tab faster than I can close screens in-game in-case I get attacked.

Most recently I got a second monitor and now work of split-monitor few, so I can play fullscreen on one while having the browser on the other , also fullscreen.

Works like a treat :)
